Fairway Cares was born in 2016 out of a simple conviction: when someone in our orbit is facing the worst season of their life, we don't send thoughts. We send a box.
The story
It started with a loss
The heart of Fairway Cares predates the paperwork. It grew out of the Fairway family's own experience of grief and the desire to make sure nobody — client, colleague, friend, or neighbor — walks through critical illness, physical trauma, or the death of a loved one without knowing someone cares. In 2016, that conviction became a nonprofit.
Since then, more than 16,000 care packages have shipped — each one hand-packed, each one carrying a hand-written note of love and comfort. Alongside the boxes, Fairway Cares provides financial assistance grants when a crisis brings hardship that a blanket can't fix.
It's all funded by the generosity of Fairway employees — the people we believe are the HEART of Fairway. Administrative costs are underwritten by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, so donations go directly to care packages and financial assistance grants.

We show up in the hardest moments — diagnosis day, the week after the funeral, the long recovery — when it's easiest to look away.

Comfort you can hold gives people strength they can use. A blanket, a note, a grant that keeps the lights on.

Every box that leaves the packing room was pulled, packed, tied, and addressed by volunteer hands from the Fairway family. It's slower than automation and better in every way that matters — because the person opening the box can tell.
